The System 100m is Roland's contribution to professional analog modular synthesis. It was based on the more limited, semi-modular, but is severalsteps of ahead of its predecessor. The System 100m offers over 20 modular componentsto pick and choose to design a custom modular set-up. The Main unit is the M-110 whichhas a single VCO oscillator, VCF, and VCA section. You can then build upon thissystem adding any number and configurations of the various other modules which includedual VCOs, ring modulators, dual VCFs, eq, dual VCAs, dual envelopes, LFOs,various effects, mixers, sequencers, and control interfaces including 3 differentkeyboard controllers. Modules are assembled into racks.

The System 100m has 3 rack sizes, theM-190 holds 3 modules, the M-191 and M-191J hold 5 modules. Each rackprovides the necessary 8-pin DIN power connectors and internal CV/gateconnections between the modules. You still need to do some external patching, however, tosend your signal through the modules of your choice to create any sounds. As for sounds, the System is basically monophonic, unless you get several racksof them for lots and lots of money! Its sound is not as warm as the System 100 before it,but it offers much more capability, as seen in Hans Zimmer's system below!

Looking for a high-resolution PDF copy of the Roland System-100m service manual. I need to do some calibration on the modules on my system and I need to know the labels on the trim pots on each module. All the copies I can find online are really low res and you can't read the schematics well.

100m

Not even sure if the service manual has all the trim pots labeled. But that's what im after. In particular I need to calibrate the following:.

moving through the different 'ranges' for tuning of VCO1/VCO2 on the 112 module causes tuning to slip from the root key you were tuned in for a specific rage (e.g. Tune the VCO at range 4'. Moving to other ranges will be out of tune from range 4', etc. Etc.) seems like the range knob is not moving through the ranges in tune properly. the min/max range of the 'resonance' for VCF2 on the 121 module is not allowing it to reach full self-oscillation. I believe im not getting the full range of the PW for the square wave on both VCO1/VCO2.

Not sure though since this is my first time really making extensive use of the 100m. Should you be able to cause the VCO to phase cancel out into silence at the highest PW setting or no? Bear in mind im using my Jupiter-6 as a reference point which does do this and has a much greater range of the PW. what is the expected max speed of the LFO's on a System-100m? For some reason I thought they could get into the audio range, but both the LFO's on my 140 and 150 modules do not get that fast, even with the high speed setting.

Wondering if these also need to be calibrated?Other than that, going through a thorough cleaning and restoration of this baby. It's cosmetically in mint shape, just needed some serious TLC. Thanks to Florian and the others for the previous replies and info on recommended cleaning solutions and cleaning process.

The Deoxit stuff is doing wonders on this thing. Can't wait to put this baby to work on some new tracks:)thanks!-o. Did you try my site?
